The U.S. Department of Commerce, through the International Trade Administration (ITA) in coordination with the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), has announced the opening of the April 2026 inclusions window for automobile parts under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.

This window allows companies and interested parties to request that additional automobile parts be included within the scope of duties imposed by Presidential Proclamation 10908 dated March 26, 2025, titled "Adjusting Imports of Automobiles and Automobile Parts Into the United States." The submission period will be open from April 1 through April 14, 2026.

The process was established through an interim final rule published on September 17, 2025 (90 FR 44767), which created recurring two-week windows in January, April, July, and October of each year. Requests must be submitted via email to AutoInclusions@trade.gov, and once accepted, will be posted for a two-week public comment period on Docket ID ITA-2025-0040 at Regulations.gov.

Submitters should verify that automobile parts proposed for inclusion are not already covered under the current Proclamation and should avoid submitting duplicate requests for products with pending decisions unless new pertinent information is available for consideration.
